I woke up early as usual, grabbing my coffee and heading to my room, settling in my usual spot at the window.
I sipped my drink, watching the sun rise over the horizon, blossoming in a peach glow and casting varying shades of orange, pink, red over everything that was once dark. I felt the warmth in my face, and smiled at the feel.
I closed my eyes, just absorbing the peace of it all. At this point, I was ready to punch Gabe square in the face if he interrupted this moment.
I heard the creaking noise of a door opening as quiet as it can, and opened my eyes, curious. I saw Annabeth coming out of her house.
I kept watching as she dragged out a folded chair, holding the Moby Dick in her hands. When she finally got it out, she closed the door, and opened her chair on the porch. She sat down, propping her book open and reading. It was adorable.
Wait.
Adorable?

But, why do I find her adorable?
Cause she is.

I choked on my coffee, even though this was in my head.

I ran my hand through my hair, placing my coffee down. I continued to stare out, and Annabeth was capturing my whole attention.
She looked so good in her grey sweatshirt, which complimented her sparkling stormy grey eyes. Her blonde princess curls, which were pulled into a ponytail, shone like gold in the new sunlight, and her eyes danced around the pages excitedly. She was biting her bottom lip in concentration, and she held the book like a brittle glass vase as if it would break if she held it any tighter.
She looked so cute, I could watch her read all the live long day.
This can't be a crush. Yep, I was still thinking about that. Sure, I thought Annabeth was really cool. She's sweet, kind, funny and as aforementioned, looked like a literal angel. I mean, I admired her, but come on, a crush can't be possible.
Those are all the signs of a crush!
It's too early, damn it! How desperate would it be if I told her I had a crush within a few days of meeting her?
Pfft, that's a pathetic excuse! Remember Jason and Piper going heart-eyes on first sight?
Well..... That is an excellent point. But, having a crush in this time span is still stupid.

I was so lost in thought, that I didn't notice Annabeth waving at me.
I smiled and waved back, snapping out of my reverie. She smiled, and continued reading her book.
I sighed. Why did I have to tell her how I feel, and wonder if she feels the same way? It's times like these that I wish I could read minds.
Having power. What fun that would be.
"Percy!" My mom's voice called from the hallway. "Breakfast!"
"Coming!" I called back. I picked up my mug, and looked back again, watching her nearing the end.
I turned and walked ahead, still smiling.
Yeah, maybe a teeny-tiny crush.

I came out to enjoy the borrowed book, and found Percy sitting on his window sill, sipping some drink and staring out at the horizon.
He didn't seem to notice I was watching him. I paused reading, and I had never seen Percy so conflicted.
He seemed to be heavily pondering something. He looked so good in the sunlight, his messy black hair now ruffled in a bed head, and still seemed to be waking up.
I watched him lose himself in his thoughts, his eyes proceeding to stare at the mini garden inattentively. I smiled, and waved. He seemed to snap out, and waved back, smiling with so much joy, I had to laugh.
Gods, he's such a dork, I thought.
I went back to reading, and felt Percy's wistful stare burning into me. I blushed, and looked up to see Percy going inside, a dorky grin on his beautiful face.
I smiled and started reading for good.
