My best advice for your online business? Be more Madonna.Love or loathe her, no-one can question the 'Material Girls' authenticity, (see what I did there?!). The powerhouse of the music world š¤ shows up as her wonderful, unique self time and time again - and unapologetically at that. She plays to her strengths and reinvents her brand repeatedly - often with ICONIC results (need I mention the cone bra?) With 300 million records sold, it's safe to say she's won the game š°š°š°The moral of the story? Don't get 'Hung Up' on the details. 'Open Your Heart' to your uniqueness and stay relevant - trust me, clients will go 'Crazy For You'!Follow for more tips on launching your own thriving online business from home, (and possibly for more Madonna based puns...I can't seem to stop š ).

The key to sustained value, important clients and great work? Proaction. If you do not go first, there will be no story, no spark only reflection. Fluency not brilliance. If it really matters to you and your creative business, you have to go first. https://bit.ly/46jdFaN #creativebusiness #bevulnerable

Remember that time you planned your wedding? Or maybe it was that epic holiday, or buying your first house. Remember how monumental it felt, how overwhelming? Yet, you did it! You delved into the unknown and came out victorious on the other side. Now, I want you to remember that feeling because writing a book is no different. I know you've got this nagging voice in your head saying, "But I don't know what to write about!" Nonsense, my friend! You've dealt with clients, transformed lives, and worked miracles in your field. Those are the stories you need to write down. It's not like you've never seen a book before - you know how the magic works. All you need is to take it step by step, just like you did with your wedding, or that first house, or setting up your business. It's time to put your experience and knowledge into words, to weave a narrative that'll inspire and transform others. You've got this! After all, you've done bigger things before, haven't you?

Owner, Rock Consulting, supporting individuals and organisations to unlock and rock their potential

I absolutely love words; I even have a Pinterest board to collect beautiful words and their meanings. So, I thought that I would share my passion for words with you and how they inspired the name of my business. Words are amazing, aren't they? They can have so many different meanings, depending on the context, the tone, the intention. They can evoke emotions, from joy to sadness, from anger to gratitude. They can feel good when you say them out loud, like a melody or a mantra. They can bring people together, through stories, conversations, jokes, or songs. I love unusual words and funny words, like coddiwomple (fabulous word), which means to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination and if any of you see me walking through town this is usuallywhat Iām doing because I have forgotten where I am going š! I have been asked by so many wonderful people why I chose the name Rock Consulting for my business. I had so many options to choose from, but I kept getting drawn back to Rock Consulting. Why? Because it represents who I am and where I come from. I am from a beautiful little seaside village called Blackrock in Dundalk, Ireland, where I grew up surrounded by the sound of the waves and the smell of the sea. In 1999, I moved to the equally beautiful Isle of Man in the middle of the Irish sea, where I fell in love with the stunning scenery and the friendly people. Both places are affectionately known as the Rock. So that's how the name was born! It reflects my heritage, my journey, and my home. But the wonderful thing about words is that they can also create feelings and Rock also represents strength for me and for my clients. That's what I aim to do with my business: to create a space where my clients can openly share their thoughts and feelings, find their inner voice, and express whatever they want to help them uncover their potential. The word rock also makes me smile because it makes me think of Rockstar's and being an 80ās kid itās not all about the big hair, wild makeup, itās more about the unlimited potential and creativity, which all my clients have the potential to become.Whether they want to rock their career, their relationships, their health, or their happiness, I'm here to support them and cheer them on.š So, what words do you use to describe yourself and your goals? How do they make you feel? How do they influence your actions? I invite you to reflect on these questions and share your answers with me in the comments. That's my story behind Rock Consulting. If you're curious about how I can help you become a Rockstar in your own life (see what I did there? Ok, I'll drop all the rock references now š ), feel free to reach out to me anytime www.rockconsulting.online or kelley@rockconsulting.online. I'd love to hear from you and chat about your goals and ambitions.

ARE YOU A COPY OF YOURSELF? I read Adam's Grant's book, "The Originals" a couple of years ago and was challenged as I have always been when reading his work. He shows readers how to be "originals" who change the world with quotes like: āTo become original, you have to try something new, which means accepting some measure of risk.ā Recently I interacted with two legends (both named Michael) that were facsimiles of their true selves. The first being a bronze Michael Jordan purchased by the real Michael Jordan (pictured) and an impersonator pretending to be the late Michael Jackson at a Michael Jackson show. While I expected the Jordan statue to just sit there and do nothing, I wasn't expecting the pseudo MJ to do so little to move me. It wasn't that the steps weren't right or the music wasn't on point. The problem was simple: You can't really have a true Michael Jackson show without Michael Jackson. The Jackson 5 superstar was a true original. Anything less than the real comes off as a fake. It makes me think about how we too often impersonate ourselves. We wear "our" clothes, live in our "house", dance to our "music", but are mostly a watered down version of who we've been created to be. We've dimmed our organic originality to become a factory imitation that's more built than born, more manufactured than grown (look at how many women look like Kim Kardashian right now!). While we need other people to help us shape our vision and direction, we should be inspired BY THEM, we shouldn't endeavor to BE THEM. 3 Types of People We Need As Originals1. MODELS: Examples and versions of the type of person/leader/creator/influencer we want to become. 2. MENTORS: Real people that invest in our lives personally, professionally. or from afar (books, videos, documentaries, podcasts, etc)3. MOVERS: People near or far, that motivate us to be an Original. Could be family, friends, or even "bad guys" that exemplify what shouldn't be happening to help inspire us to transcend the status quo and design something different. Be an Original. š#original #originals #adamgrant #originalsbook #books #michaeljackson #michaeljordan #jordan #jackson5 #jacksons #creativity #creative #hope #leadership

This is one of my favorite quotes. And I love working with clients who have found themselves exactly in this place. QUESTION: What are the circ*mstances that your clients find themselves in, where they have reached this place? Let's compare notes. Thanks to Michael Meade for this beautiful image/quote combo.
