Your opportunity

Retirement Distributions Operations is the primary service and operations arm for Investor Services and Advisor Services. Retirement Distributions provides expertise on complex product and service questions for IRAs and Qualified Retirement Plans. We also handle certain retirement account processing. We inspire client loyalty by providing guidance and solutions to fulfill client needs and have a focus on employee development and collaboration.

As a member of the Retirement Distributions teams, you will be responsible for assisting clients with questions and needs regarding their accounts in order to build and maintain client loyalty. As a leader in the group you will be expected to foster a team environment and lead by example.

• Utilize a passion for client service, positive energy, and problem solving skills to connect with our clients via inbound and outbound calls
• Assess and resolve client issues that relate to retirement, helping them navigate Schwab products and services
• Help clients navigate our online tools and deliver unparalleled value and outstanding service to our clients in order to build and maintain client loyalty
• Interact with other team members to assist in attaining individual, team, and department objectives
• Manage multiple tasks effectively by balancing high productivity with excellent service quality
• Cross train with other teams to obtain additional skills in Retirement Distributions
• Work with new and other team members and peers to provide support, mentoring and guidance
• Work in unison with the Team Manager to coach and develop team members to achieve their goals and expectations.
• Assist team manager and other members of leadership to maintain service level
• Develop and maintain business partnerships throughout the company
• Mitigate risk to the firm and client through analytical thinking and complex problem solving
• Provides feedback to peers when appropriate. Ensures that daily work is processed in a timely manner by monitoring workflow and making timely decisions regarding queue management.

What you have

• Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Windows (XP), internet searching, database systems (Excel), and email (Outlook)
• Passion for service with strong client-focus and the desire to help people
• Strong communication and relating skills with the ability to navigate and explain to clients complex subjects such as IRS rules and regulations
• Ability to work a flexible shift, in both hours and days, in response to business demand
• Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
• Well-developed organizational, time management, prioritization, and analytical skills
• Preferred- brokerage or related financial services experience
• Preferred- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related area preferred
• Preferred-Experience working with a document imaging system
• Strongly desired- Prior experience in Retirement or Estates
• Proven leadership skills and experience
• Experience working in service and support to other team members and peers
• Demonstrates peer influence and team level support by being available for questions, escalations, and other time-sensitive issues.
• Active FINRA Series 7/63 and 9/10 preferred.
